Well last Saturday was London Pride and for once the weather was on our side, it was a baking hot day. As mentioned I'd been approach to be on the work LGBT support group float, whose theme was Moulin Rouge.
I turned up at the hotel they were all staying at around 10am and was told my outfit was a red t-shirt with the LGBT groups name on it and a top hat. We then headed up to Baker Street where all the floats were being decorated and sound systems tested. We set off about 1.30pm and the parade was amazing. Basically I was on a float and danced and waved for two and a half hours. I felt like a star and the support from the crowd was great, plus we had a fab DJ on our float so the music was uplifting. I actually had a soar throat from singing so much after the march. But my spirits were lifted by the fact that gay people come in all shapes, size, beliefs but all were happy and proud.
After the parade I headed up to Trafalgar Square and hooked up with the accountant, who is a London Pride director so I got a backstage pass. There wasn't any major celebrities performing but I had access to free booze and got to stand right in front of the stage. I think the only major stars there were singer / DJ Sonique, Kim Mazelle and the Freemasons.
There was a post party at Soho house, London Pride had secured the roof bar and the floor beneath for a party. Soho house is lovely and I ended up speaking to Alan Carr, plus a guy who was his double. It was really nice to look over the balcony on the roof bar and see Compton Street rammed packed with gay revellers.
After Soho House we went up to the official London Pride after party which was at Koko in Camden. Once again I had VIP access and thanks to a little Columbian marching powder and alcohol I was full of beans. I spent the evening with accountant and the pride crew. By 2am on the dance floor I had my top off and was dancing with my hard pecs and new stomach on show. I got loads of attention, especially from the PR rep from Coke and his boyfriend.
At 4am I ended up going back with the accountant to his flat and slept with him for the first time. God it was great and well worth the wait. It was a great end to an even greater day and night.
It is just under two day until London Pride and guess what I'm going to be on a float. To add sprinkles on top of that announcement because I'm semi dating the accountant, who is a one of the directors of Pride I'm also getting an Access All Areas pass for the Trafalgar Square event and the post pride party at Koko.
Who says it doesn't pay to be pretty and friendly, plus accountant and I might actually get round to having sex. Win Win all round.
Well I mentioned I'd been speed dating and that it was a fun night - well last Tuesday I went on my first date from the pool of four interested candidates.
It was with a guy called Keith who works in marketing, but he lives in Leeds (a neck of the UK I am more than familiar with) but works in London - one hell of a commute.
Anyway he was 33 and looked fairly handsome. We met in Balans for dinner to which he was 10 minutes late. I wasn't complaining as I've started back at the gym since my op and in just a week my pecs are pumped. I decided to wear a deep v-neck to show my assets off. This didn't go un-appreciated as a guy two tables away was just staring at me all night and even followed me down to the toilet, but he didn't have the balls to chat to me. His loss!
Anyway conversation was easy with Keith, I asked if he'd had any work done as his forehead didn't move and his lips were extremely full for a white man. He assured me that despite his uncle being a plastic surgeon, he remained untouched - I didn't buy that either. I confessed all my work in progress and he was please by my honesty.
Talking of honesty I found out that despite being 33 and deciding he was gay at the age of 24 he's still not come out to his 40 year brother or 80 year old mum - a bit worrying if you are trying to come across as an honest guy?
After a nice dinner that lasted a good two hours due to chat we went to the Yard for a drink. It was obvious from the body language he was into me so we kissed and it wasn't disappointing.
As I was trying to come across innocent I wasn't putting out on the first date, but Keith did ask me how I felt tonight had went. I told him I wasn't looking for an instant boyfriend but wanted to get to know someone and I felt we got on well and would like to get to know him better. I also stated a second date was a must, he agreed on all points. Another horse to my stable.
He walked me to the tube and we parted ways with a promise to hook up in a weeks time. Being me when I got off the tube I sent him a text thanking him for a good night and reaffirmed my interest and hope for a second date.
I was shocked and insulted the next day when I'd not had a reply. It just shows you some men are full of shit. Still my next speed dating date is lined up for Friday so I can't complain.
I mentioned in a previous post I had a date with an accountant, well it turned out he wasn’t just an accountant but a director of London Pride, and he’s a year younger than me. We met in the afternoon outside the Duke of Wellington, I was on time he was slightly late. When he turned up in his combat shorts and aviators I thought not bad, it was just a shame he spent the first five minutes on his iphone sorting out things for the impending Pride event.
He was easy to chat to and one of the things I liked was he admitted he’d been chubby (no sign of this now) and that his body is a work in progress that requires the gym on a daily basis. Having just had my lipo I confessed that my own body was a work in progress as well.
We really hit it off and the more the double vodkas kept coming the more we found we had in common. The afternoon was topped of by the fact two of the Jonas brother walked by us on their way to the Shaftsbury Theatre as one of them is in Les Mis. Anyway I digress – we went for dinner as it was obvious we were both getting a little tipsy. After dinner we headed to the bar called the Yard where he made the bold more and planted a kiss on me, which was totally welcome. He was a decent kisser, so much so I instantly got a semi.
For then on in we got very rude with gropes, kisses and lots of dirty talking. I could feel myself loosing control so I insisted that this was as far as our first date would go. He looked a bit saddened but agreed, although when he walked me to the tube he tried to encourage me to let him give me a blow job, luckily his advances / pleas were soon disrupted when two police officers cycled by.
Since then we’ve been texting and calling on a daily basis and had a second date where he met me from work and we walked along the South Bank before having a cool drink and a little snog. As it turns out I’ve actually been asked to be on a float during the pride march so we’ve planned to hook up after were he’s promised to get me an Access All Areas pass for the event in Trafalgar Square so we can hang out.
