Loud and proud

Well last Saturday was London Pride and for once the weather was on our side, it was a baking hot day. As mentioned I'd been approach to be on the work LGBT support group float, whose theme was Moulin Rouge.

I turned up at the hotel they were all staying at around 10am and was told my outfit was a red t-shirt with the LGBT groups name on it and a top hat. We then headed up to Baker Street where all the floats were being decorated and sound systems tested. We set off about 1.30pm and the parade was amazing. Basically I was on a float and danced and waved for two and a half hours. I felt like a star and the support from the crowd was great, plus we had a fab DJ on our float so the music was uplifting. I actually had a soar throat from singing so much after the march.  But my spirits were lifted by the fact that gay people come in all shapes, size, beliefs but all were happy and proud.

After the parade I headed up to Trafalgar Square and hooked up with the accountant, who is a London Pride director so I got a backstage pass. There wasn't any major celebrities performing but I had access to free booze and got to stand right in front of the stage. I think the only major stars there were singer / DJ Sonique, Kim Mazelle and the Freemasons.

There was a post party at Soho house, London Pride had secured the roof bar and the floor beneath for a party. Soho house is lovely and I ended up speaking to Alan Carr, plus a guy who was his double. It was really nice to look over the balcony on the roof bar and see Compton Street rammed packed with gay revellers.

After Soho House we went up to the official London Pride after party which was at Koko in Camden. Once again I had VIP access and thanks to a little Columbian marching powder and alcohol I was full of beans. I spent the evening with accountant and the pride crew. By 2am on the dance floor I had my top off and was dancing with my hard pecs and new stomach on show. I got loads of attention, especially from the PR rep from Coke and his boyfriend.

At 4am I ended up going back with the accountant to his flat and slept with him for the first time. God it was great and well worth the wait. It was a great end to an even greater day and night.

Second speed dating date

On Monday I went on another date with someone I met from the speed dating event.  To be honest I couldn't really remember this guy as I was a little drunk by the end of the speed dating night but in my notes I'd put "banker, nice guy" so I was hopeful.

Luckily he got to the bar where we were meeting first so recognised me as I walked in.  My first reaction was a little shock, but not expressed, as I did not remember that he was slightly over weight, first mark against him.  Anyway we order drinks and sat down and chatted.

I found him easy to talk to and he's was very open.  We talk about other dates we'd been on, I told him about my ex and how we still live together.  We move on to families and this is an area where I'm worried about as I describe my family as a functional dysfunctional family.  He then shocks me by telling me a story about only finding out his father wasn't his father three years ago, then finding his biological father last year and having about ten half brothers and sister between the three parents.  He beats me hands down here, tick in the yes box.

We move on to dinner where the conversation continues and it turns out that while he is 30 he's spent most of his sexual gay life as a single man besides one, two year relationship when he was 18, this compared to me being in three long term relationships through all my 20's and most of my 30's.

Then we went to see a movie, where I thought he might make his move. He didn't.  It was kind of awkward after the movie as I was heading home and i went to give him a kiss and it ended up as a peck on the cheek. Begining to understand why he's been single so long.  Despite this he's since called and texted me practically every day making it obvious he likes me.  The jury is out on my part - we are going to the cinema again next week so we'll see what happens.

Loud and proud

It is just under two day until London Pride and guess what I'm going to be on a float.  To add sprinkles on top of that announcement because I'm semi dating the accountant, who is a one of the directors of Pride I'm also getting an Access All Areas pass for the Trafalgar Square event and the post pride party at Koko.

Who says it doesn't pay to be pretty and friendly, plus accountant and I might actually get round to having sex.  Win Win all round.

An account of the date with an accountant

I mentioned in a previous post I had a date with an accountant, well it turned out he wasn’t just an accountant but a director of London Pride, and he’s a year younger than me. We met in the afternoon outside the Duke of Wellington, I was on time he was slightly late. When he turned up in his combat shorts and aviators I thought not bad, it was just a shame he spent the first five minutes on his iphone sorting out things for the impending Pride event.

He was easy to chat to and one of the things I liked was he admitted he’d been chubby (no sign of this now) and that his body is a work in progress that requires the gym on a daily basis. Having just had my lipo I confessed that my own body was a work in progress as well.

We really hit it off and the more the double vodkas kept coming the more we found we had in common. The afternoon was topped of by the fact two of the Jonas brother walked by us on their way to the Shaftsbury Theatre as one of them is in Les Mis. Anyway I digress – we went for dinner as it was obvious we were both getting a little tipsy. After dinner we headed to the bar called the Yard where he made the bold more and planted a kiss on me, which was totally welcome. He was a decent kisser, so much so I instantly got a semi.

For then on in we got very rude with gropes, kisses and lots of dirty talking. I could feel myself loosing control so I insisted that this was as far as our first date would go. He looked a bit saddened but agreed, although when he walked me to the tube he tried to encourage me to let him give me a blow job, luckily his advances / pleas were soon disrupted when two police officers cycled by.

Since then we’ve been texting and calling on a daily basis and had a second date where he met me from work and we walked along the South Bank before having a cool drink and a little snog. As it turns out I’ve actually been asked to be on a float during the pride march so we’ve planned to hook up after were he’s promised to get me an Access All Areas pass for the event in Trafalgar Square so we can hang out.

Tick tock..times up

Last week I tried speed dating, the awkward part was I did it with my ex. It was all part of me trying to get him to be more social. I guess I’ve felt a little guilty that I’ve taken to being single like a duck to water and my ex has been a bit slow on the up take, so speed dating seemed like the perfect opportunity to meet a lot of single guys.

The event was run by Village Drinks, who are a social networking site for gay professionals and there were 50 single guy’s at this event. As my ex and I were early we managed to secure places sitting down rather than one of the people who move from table to table.

Neither of us had been speed dating before so didn’t really know what to expect. Firstly three minutes was hardly enough time to chat to anyone and decide whether you want to see them again, there was far too much paper work to do within that time and all in all I felt like I was Alan Sugar interviewing for possible dates.

There was a good array of vocations ranging from HR, self employed, bankers and fund raisers and I found that as the night went on, the more wine I drank the more open I was to ticking the yes box for further dates. I also neglected to tell my potential dates I was here with my ex, which in one case had funny repercussion for one suitor.

Basically the way it was set up meant that after I had seen a guy they went to the next table which my ex sat at. One guy complained to my ex that I had talked about myself for the whole 3 minutes. My ex told him we were friends and the guy was highly embarrassed, then we both marked him down as a no.

It was an enjoyable night and we both had a good laugh, the following day we got our results back and only one person wanted to date my ex, while I had four interested guys. I’ve already arranged dates with two of them for this week so watch this space for an update.

Young Gun Going for it

Last Friday I needed to be in work for 7am, not unusual and I enjoy commuting into work at that time as the tube is relatively empty. After getting on the tube and settling into my seat the train left and soon came into the next station. As it pulled in I noticed a young cute guy standing on the platform, he should have gotten on the carriage after mine, but to my amazement he ran down the platform to get in my carriage and sat directly across from me.

You know you get a feeling when someone is looking at you, well I could feel his eye staring at me. I looked up and caught his eye and he smiled. God he was young, cute and obviously in to me. I was extremely flattered, but it was 6.30am in the morning and I didn’t really know how I was going to strike up a conversation. He got off at Kings Cross – but as he got up I plucked up enough courage to give him my business card.

Later that evening I received a text from the guy and we entered into a conversation and it turns out he was 25, Turkish and here learning English. I was extremely flattered as he thought I was 27 (ten year younger than I actually am). It ended with us agreeing to meet up on Saturday for a coffee, he was very insistent that he come to mine, who was I to disagree.

On Saturday he came round at 2pm prompt – to be honest with you I though he’d just want to chat as he’d told me he didn’t know any gay people in London and his family and friends did not know he was gay. How wrong could I have been, as soon as I’d shut the door he kissed me, I was shocked but not stunned so continued the kiss. Before long he had my trousers off and was sucking on my cock. He then told me he was top and wanted to fuck me. I told him I didn’t fuck strangers so he insisted I get down on my knees and suck him off. Something I did with great ease as he came in three minutes.

He then got dressed and said he’d like to see me again – I was shocked at how forward this young guy was and said I’d be in touch. Since then he’s befriended me on Facebook and pestered me for another date, I’ve yet to get back to him. Even though this was a quick affair I can only thank him for saying that he thought I was 27, but his directness was slightly off putting.
